Stone from the Lessinia mountain range is divided into strata, making it relatively easy to mine and giving it a large range of applications. The presence of fossils is virtually a guarantee of authenticity and adds a further aesthetic element to the stone. The fact that all formats -including the largest- can be obtained for cladding and paving has made it the most commonly used stone for local architecture down the ages. In addition to its natural finish, the material can be finished in a variety of ways: polished glazed, given an antique finish, bush-hammered, notched, rolled, or simply cut without processing.
