Raleigh, NC, July 29, 2008 – Dal-Tile Corp., the nation’s largest distributor of natural stone slabs and tiles, has acquired the stone business from Marble Point Inc., a natural stone importer and wholesale distributor in Raleigh.
Since its founding six years ago, Marble Point, which will be renamed the Daltile Stone Showroom, has grown to become one of the top independent providers of natural stone slabs and tiles serving both North Carolina and South Carolina. The stone showroom and slabyard supports both the residential and commercial markets from its 2,000-square foot showroom and 24,000-square foot warehouse.
“We see great potential and market strength in Raleigh, and the Carolinas as a whole, both residentially and commercially,” said Lori Kirk-Rolley, director of marketing at Daltile.
“The Daltile Stone Center in Raleigh will augment our 10 Sales Service Centers in the area and will provide our customers with a single source for natural stone slabs and tiles, in addition to our broad assortment of ceramic, porcelain, glass and metal tiles.”
While Daltile sells its products exclusively to the trade, the stone showroom and sales service centers are open to the public for selection purposes. Specially-trained Daltile Representatives work closely with contractors, fabricators and designers to provide high-levels of customer service and assistance in helping their customers – homeowners – choose the best slabs and tile for any design project.
