Tulikivi tiles are manufactured from a soapstone mine from a quarry situated on the Pielinen shore of Nunnanlahti bay in the municipality of Juuka, Finland. The stone has been used in the industry since the 1890's. Today, it is used to make the world-famous Tulikivi Fireplaces, tiles, and architectural stone.
