Inter-Tool was founded as Leith & Co. in 1922. Leitch & Co. was originally one of the largest distributors of stone equipment in the San Francisco bay area. In the 1980's the Inter-Tool division was created to develop more user friendly, higher performance tools for the stone and concrete industries. The company was renamed Inter-Tool in 2013 to emphasize their focus on the development of high performance tools.
The award winning 12" hand-held planetary motion polisher (DS3011) was the first hand-held tool to bring the planetary motion to the stone polishing industry. The 7" DS175 is the world's smallest planetary motion machine and provides the best finish to the most difficult to reach areas.
