GTM 1600 - Block cutters for Marble
This machine is designed for cutting marble blocks into strips by means of a series of one to five vertical discs and one horizontal disc.
Machine specifications:
The machine is composed of two vertical columns joined by a very sturdy support beam so as to ensure the stability of the structure.
The movement of the bridge up and down the columns is by means of two carriages with bronze sliders which run along two ground and rectified channels. These channels are made in the columns and are covered by a special wear-resistant tempered steel belt which guarantees the machine’s accuracy over time.
The main bridge which runs along the columns is made up of a special steel beam with a very thick closed section which houses special roller runners. These work in an oil bath and have airtight seals. Cutting accuracy is guaranteed thanks to the way in which the runners are connected to the columns.
Both cutting and the movement of the block carriage are programmed and controlled by a PLC which ensures maximum accuracy throughout the machine run.
The block carriage is a sturdy steel structure which moves on special double steel wheels assembled on roller bearings.
The wheels are flat/prismatic for their accurate movement under the machine along flat/prismatic rails and bars for their movement outside the cutting area.
The carriage is powered by a self-braking motor with a gear reduction unit which caters for the micrometric movements in the cutting area and other movements for the loading and unloading of the blocks.
The accuracy of the carriage movements is guaranteed by a special encoder which is an integral part of the rails and is connected to the mobile carriage by means of a steel cable. The dimensions of the block carriage are 330 cm (length of the block) by 230 cm (width of the block).

BENCH AND UNDERBENCH GROUP
bench entirely made in seasoned cast-iron, reinforced and accurately worked. Its dimensions complete with side brackets are 3,50 x 2,00 mts. To the bench are applied the prismatic and flat
wheels which support heavy loads. The wheels slide on special steel guides accurately worked and with very high resistence. The bench is complete with attachment fot the hydraulic cylinder
and the stroke-end stpos.
COLUMNS AND BRIDGE GROUP
Two columns entirely made in cast-iron, are connected at the upper side by a beam and from a very stout frame. The motor which controls the vertical bridge movement is placed on the
beam. The bridge, in cast-iron, is connected to the columns by means of prismatic and rectified guides and is provided with register gibs. Two independent slides are applied on the bridge: the first holds the spindle group of the horizontal disk, the second holds the spindle for the the vertical disks. The automatisms for the slide control are placed on the ends of the bridge.All
the slides are motorized, run on prismatic guides and are equipped with register gibs. All the working motions are supplied with suitable end-strokes which protect the machine from eventual operation mistakes.
SPINDLE GROUP
The two spindles are independent and can be moved both singulary for the manual adjustment and contemporaneusly during cutting operation. The motor of the diamond disks are placed in the spindle groups, 150 HP motorwith 6 poles for the vertical disks and 30 HP motor for the horizontal disk.
HYDRAULIC PLANT FOR BENCH TRASLATION
It is made up of a complete hydraulic central unit with 5,5 HP motor. The plant allow the bench movement at an adjustable speed up to a max of 9 mts./minute ahead and max 17 mts./minute
return.
ELECTRIC PLANT
The electrical plant is complete with all the necessary equipment for the control and the protection of each single motor.
Operation procedure:
After having equipped the machine with suitable vertical and horizontal disks; the various processing data are preset on the control board - that is with of the massive or thin strips and
height. Start the bench wich takes the block to the cutting area and adjust the cutting speed depending on the type of material to be sawn. When cutting is finished the bench stops and the operator unloads the peace sawn. If the machine is provided with automatic unloader, after the operator calls the unloader to the loading position, the bench goes back to the initial position and unloads the piece sawn. “GP 800” is avery stout and stable machine which gives stripes with extremely low dimensional tolerances that facilitate the subsequent operations to be done (such as grinding and polishing).

- rotating trolley of 2,2 x 2,8 m and a carrying capacity of 20000 kg;
- automatic discharge conveyor for marble 250 kg maximum.

FEATURES
Load-bearing structure composed of four vertical columns
joined together by crossbeams. Bridge-trolley unit lifted by means of four screws guided by sliders with slide blocks made of anti-friction material; the entire unit is protected by a stainless steel guard. Vertical movement is performed by means of a selfbraking gearmotor driven by inverter.
Large-sized shoulders with milled surfaces and hardened steel interchangeable tracks on which the disc-carrying bridge-trolley unit slides. Sliding takes place on roller cages in oil bath protected by PVC bellows.
The overhead bridge unit with a robust electro-welded steel structure in which two V-shaped guides have been formed for the trolley to slide on. A self-braking gearmotor driven by inverter is used to drive the trolley, fitted with a braking device positioned on the opposite side to the gearmotor to guarantee its correct and stable positioning during cutting. A rack and pinion with slanting teeth and corresponding inverter-driven gearmotor are used to translate the overhead bridge unit.
Disc-carrying trolley sliding on broad cross-section cast iron prismatic slide blocks in oil bath protected by special guards.
Movement is performed by means of a rack and pinion with slanting teeth and corresponding inverter-driven gearmotor.
110 mm disc shaft, for the use of 1 1600 mm diameter discs.
To guarantee a long service life and maximum resistance to corrosion, all the surfaces have been sand-blasted, galvanised and carefully painted with dual component epoxy paints.

AUTOMATIC ELECTRONIC BLOCK-CUTTER FOR MARBLE AND GRANITE
Sawing machine able to transform marble and granite blocks into semimachined slabs having a maximum height of 1500 mm and the thickness desired.
FEATURES

Block holder trolley with electronically-controlled positioning with decimal tolerances and adjustable speed.
Movement of the blade holder slide drivens by a rack-pinion on guides in oil bath, free of maintenance with protections made of stainless steel. Separate regulation of the cut/return speed and the head limit stops from the control board.
Possibility to program a reduction of cut increment at the beginning of the cycle to facilitate the entrance of the blade in the block.

Possibility to set in multiple cuts 9 diff erent translation measures, repeatable up to 99 times. Possibility to program up to 9 different cutting heights and lenghts in order to work at the same time with blocks having different sizes.

ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC BLOCK-CUTTER
with automatic cycle for cutting marble - T13LL
Orthogonal disc block-cutter, suitable for transforming rough marble or stone of normal hardness into strips. Cutting and return movements are hydraulic, while the other movements are mechanical with a high degree of accuracy. Equipped with motorized block carriage, cable winder and control push-buttons. Automatic hydraulic engagement and release of horizontal disc head. Automatic adjusted (slower) initial disc travelling speed when entering block. Programmable cutting depth and thickness with digital display. Cutting, return, travelling and bridge lowering operations are automatic. Electrical control unit is independent from the machine body with mobile push-button panel placed on the RIGHT side of the machine, with disc water ejection towards the LEFT.

MAXI 3000 RX and MAXI 3500 RX are sawing machines with a jumbo disc for cutting marble and granite at the desired thickness. These machines follow the Simec philosophy of the NT2 block cutters, with 2 columns fixed to the ground and the mobile block carrying trolley, to guarantee the absence of vibration, high productivity and long diamond lifetime.

The working centers MAXI RX MOB offer high precision requisites thanks to the translation system of the cutting bridge made with interchangeable steel “V”slides of high resistance, that can also be ground, as well as the precision motors and reducers, synchronized by encoder on each column. Once the machine places itself on the cutting point, it locks its position as to avoid vibrations and accidental movement.
