    The idea of automating the application of resin and more generally chemical products on natural stone slabs without losing the quality level typical of the craftsmanship of manual
    operation, was born in 2013 and materialized two years later in the first specimen of GALILEO By Prometec.
    Two years after the first installation, GALILEO did not disappoint expectations, but has been enhanced with many features thanks also to the contribution of so many customers who trusted us in this great potential technology.
    Today’s GALILEO is a machine that, in spite of its intrinsic complexity, has achieved great reliability, ease of use and high quality of application thanks to the continuous development of the end-effector coordinated with a reader capable of providing very precise slab profile information.

    WORKING CYCLE
    The GALILEO processing system is divided into two
    separate phases:
    1. THE SCANNING PHASE during which a 3D model of the slab is made. This makes it possible to detect with extreme accuracy the thickness at every point, the perimeter of the slab and the presence of hollow spots classified according to suitable criteria in order to then retouch them where necessary.
    2. THE STAGE OF APPLICATION OF THE RESIN AND SUCCESSIVE RITOUCH WORK IF NECESSARY is done by an anthropomorphic robot by an anthropomorphic robot that receives all the trajectories for applying the resin and the location/characteristics of the fractures to be restored from the scanning machine.

    Machinery Function Features:

    Ares oven by Xilex dries water instantly both inside and on the surface of the stone slabs. This oven is intended for drying process on natural stone (marble and granite), artificial stone (quartz and cristobalite) and porcelain tile.
    Unlike conventional kilns, Ares effectively removes moisture by drying all cracks and holes so that the material is prepared for optimal filtering and resin adhesion in the next step on the production line.
    In addition, Ares is an instant oven since it performs an effective drying in just 2-3 minutes, a very short time in comparing to the drying of 30-60 minutes that conventional ovens require. The instant drying allows a quick manipulation of the slabs so the productivity increases up to 20% depending on the process.
    Ares is installed without the typical foundations of conventional systems, does not require the additional use of metal trays and does not require high maintenance costs, so the purchase and installation of the Ares oven by Xilex is 40% cheaper than the acquisition of a conventional system.
    Great energy savings in drying of marble and granite
    The great profitability of Ares is related, in addition to optimizing time, with a significant decrease in power consumption. Ares efficiency represents a 15% saving in energy expenditure compared to conventional drying systems. This decrease in energy consumption is mainly due to three factors:
    Instant start with 100% efficiency. This is a great added value compared to conventional systems, which require one hour of preheating.
    Adaptation of power to the material. Ares automatically adapts to the material’s drying needs, adjusting the power required for each piece. Conventional lines, on the other hand, perform linear power consumption.
    Power on when detection of slabs. Ares only lights up when it detects the presence of slabs, unlike conventional lines that remain on whether there are slabs or not.
    Quick and easy adaptation of the Ares oven to the production line
    Ares oven is easily installed on the production line and adapts to any transport system without additional investment thanks to its practical size (2500mm x 2500mm), compared to a conventional accumulator (7000x2500x6000mm).
    It is also important to note that Ares allows slabs to be dried directly from the block cutter or multiwire since the machine can be installed on the existing transport line without the need for any works or foundations, furthermore, its installation does not even require stopping production.

    Kronos is the Xilex machine that allows total control of the filtering and adhesión process to obtain top quality finishes. It is an oven for epoxy, polyester and polyurethane (PUR) resin curing that accelerates the activation and consolidation of chemical properties in marbles, granites and other more delicate types of natural stone such as onyx or alabaster.
    Kronos oven differs from conventional machines in that it performs greater filtration and adhesion of resins, and it allows to produce controlled effects on the surface finish (brightness, light and dark tones, etc.) with a production of up to 30 tables at hour.

    Leonardo allows to realize the same treatment process and working conditions of the bigger resin lines but with a reduced level of investment.

    Another advantage in terms of uniformity of the treatment that the slabs undergo, is generated by the fact that the frames form two columns, one moving up and one moving down.     The process requires about 20-40 minutes to dry interior moisture according to the type of material and the set temperature.
    Drying and pre-heating oven must have a dual action: dry moisture from the slabs and then heat them up to the suitable temperature for resining (40÷45°C).
    Resinline plants use two types of ovens for the material drying and pre-heating:
    . Tunnel of Wind, exclusive tunnel system.
    . Drying Towers, multilevel ovens.
    They both include the warm air recirculation.
    The longitudinal tunnel drying system is composed of an insulated gallery with insulating panels, where the slabs enter from one side and exit from the opposite side.
    The tunnel length is determined according to the quantity of slabs to be processed.
    The warm air flows opposite to the material direction, heats the slab so that the moisture is first moved away and then totally dried during its passage into a heating exchanger, properly placed outside the tunnel.
    The supports with the slabs move along the tunnel through a horizontal chain handling system, while two elevators placed at both ends transfer them upstairs.
    The heating unit can be powered electrically, by methane or by LPG.

    Machinery Function Features:

    An anthropomorphic robot with 6 axis, placed on the roller bench side, automatically performs the application of the reinforcement net and of the resin.
    The first operation consists of the reinforcement net application.
    The robot, by means of a gripper system, unrolls the net required length
    which is subsequently cut and laid on the slab surface.
    An optical reader has previously measured the slab.
    A rotating plate with brushes, equipped with resin mixer, approaches the middle of the slab and releases the right resin quantity. Then the robot starts the automatic distribution stage by means of a spatula, spreading and handing out the required quantities of resin, which can be programmed on the control panel through colour touch-screen monitor.
    The components come from thermo-controlled tanks equipped with mixers and they are separately pumped up to the mixer nozzle which is installed on the automatic distributor final part.
    A washing pipe comes into action when the resin application cycle stops for a period which is longer than the resin gelling time.

    Machinery Function Features:

    The ovens model PILOT represent the most classical typology of slab ovens, used both for the drying of the material and for the catalysis of the resin. The lifting and inserting system, commonly called lift, gets the tray from the roller conveyor before the oven, then it lifts it up to a free level and deposits it inside the oven, leaving it in storage for the necessary time.     The insertion of accumulating systems on resining lines gives a better penetration of resin into the material thanks to the greater time it stays between the resining phase and the entrance in the catalysis oven. Simec offers accumulating system type COMP with version capable of housing up to 50 slabs and CUG systems which are more compact and can house up to maximum 8 slabs. On request the CUG and COMP accumulating systems can be supplied in heated version to keep slabs and resin at the required temperature during the penetration phase.
