Description

Slates are compact fine-grained metamorphic rocks, especially characterised by having a very homogeneous and penetrative foliation or schistosity, which allows them to be split into thin parallel smooth surface slices. The main surface characteristics of our slates are: - Intense black colour. - Very fine grain. - Very smooth uniform surface with fan-shaped vein. - No quartz veins or other negative features are observed.

Villar del Rey Natural Stones S.L. was established in 2013 by young Extremaduran businessmen to return to prominence the historical and prestigious slate and black granite quarries of Villar del Rey, in the province of Badajoz.

The purpose of the company is to mine the quarries and transform and market their slate and black granite products domestically and overseas.

The company is made up of multidisciplinary team with proven experience in the natural stone industry and has a customer-oriented approach to satisfy its customer´s needs. It fulfils the highest standards of quality and safety and fully respects the environment.
