GM was founded in Carrara, in the shadow of the Apuan Alps, which man has excavated for thousands of years to extract white marble, globally recognised as one of the most exquisite and precious stones of all time.
The extraordinary uniqueness of this marble had already been recognised by the Roman Empire, who were the first to start extracting it; later, during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, sculptors of the calibre of Giovanni Pisano used the white marble to produce works of incomparable beauty like the pulpit of Pisa Cathedral. Michelangelo Buonarroti was a great fan of Apuan stone, to the extent that he personally made his way to the quarries to choose the blocks for his masterpieces.
Thousands of years later, the extraction activity continues, and the prestige of the white marble from Carrara remains unchanged.
The goal of our company is to present you with a catalogue of articles for the home, kitchen, furnishing, designer objects, accessories, bijou and much more besides. They are all locally produced by craftsmen who still mould the blocks of marble by hand, giving life to creations of absolute beauty and quality.
Our products are made from authentic white Carrara marble and are worked with highly-prized marbles that range from Calacatta to Statuario, passing through the "Cremo" and classic white marble.
