1944 - The laboratory Avola opens its business, in Modica, taking care of the recovery and the cut of the local stone. The workshop was initiated by the founder Michele Avola that deals to date of obtaining raw material. Following the direction passed to his son George, head of production, and to Armando and Carmelo Minauda, the first responsible of the administrative part, the second part of the commercial.
82/87 - The brand Avola Stone was born at the beginning of the 80s.
Over nearly 10 years the activities of the company laboratory is responsible for production of edges of pavement, construction of roads and paved streets locally.
1988 - Since 1988 Avola Stone faces its experience gained in working stone towards the field of architecture and public housing. It deals therefore façade construction, coatings, interventions of street furniture and sculptural work for private homes.
89/98 - Avola Stone continues to operate with increasing success in the sphere of public, thanks to the introduction of new technologies such as cutting water and the use of CNC milling machines.
The company in this way comes close to the field of design of decorative elements and design objects, especially the construction of chimneys visible, balustrades, columns and architectural elements in general.
99/09 Avola Stone expands its organic production becoming a major center of production in natural stone, enhancing the origin, history and quality of the material taken in the particular historical / architectural Valley of Noto.
Avola Stone participates in all major trade fairs, export the stone of Modica and the stones of the Sicilian Baroque in the five continents, supporting an industrial production, a workshop at home, in respect of one of the oldest traditions of Modica.
09 / .. The company changes its name to AVOLA STONE DESIGN SRL, wanting to indicate a transition to a new vision of natural stone, which sees alongside the standard production design a catalog of items of street furniture, such as chaise long outdoor, benches and chairs made entirely unique blocks of stone.
