Company Description
To go back to the origins of Ambrosetti s.r.l. You have to go back to the last century. The grandfather of the current holders, Arturo Ambrosetti (class 1893), born and resident in Viggiù, a land of sculptors, decides to learn art and to open in the 1920s a small sculpture workshop that performed predominantly sacred subjects, subjects we still find Today in our cemeteries. His masterpiece is a baptismal font still lying in Varese and privately owned.
The 1920s, which will spring into the infamous 1929 crisis, are economically difficult years, and the low demand from the clients leads Arturo to open a deposit at Rho (MI) to expand the circle of customers.
In 1938 he decided to make a radical change, and Viggiù moved to Besozzo (VA), also because of his proximity to Daverio, his wife's birthplace, and where his father-in-law was already a stonecutter.
Over the years, the work begins to bear fruit: in 1950 Arturo buys real estate in Via Bortolotti, where the helical wire cutting plant is installed. The work then was predominantly manual and the realization of a monument or other marble works took a long time.
His son Adriano decides to follow his father's footsteps, and so, with a new young force, he extends production in the field of construction.
Unfortunately, the structure of Via Bortolotti was no longer able to contain the materials and machinery needed for processing, so Ambrosetti decided to move to Leonardo da Besozzo. Here everything seems bigger and easier and, over the years, work is getting stronger and stronger.
Adriano encourages his sons Giangiacomo and Roberto to continue their activities. With the introduction of modern ideas and advanced technologies, the need for a new and larger laboratory is born. For its construction, a vast plot is acquired in via Leonardo da Vinci and, in the new premises, highly advanced computer techniques and machines are used.
Today at Ambrosetti s.r.l. You can choose from a wide variety of materials from all over the world and between types of machineries that can satisfy even the most demanding customer.
