Company Description
The company Alex.Solomonidi Bros CO is a family business started in 1966 in a neighborhood of Thessaloniki, with the purpose of processing and selling marble, in the form of blocks, slabs and special dimensions. Founders were the four brothers of the family Nikolaos Dimitrios, Eleftherios and Theodoros. The entrepreneurial spirit and hard work created the need for more space with industrial plant, which led them to the area of Neochorouda, in the 13th km Thessaloniki-Neochoroudas, where are currently the headquarters of the company.
From 1973 to 1989 the company had a fast growth by investing very early in the modern equipment, creating a vertical production unit marble.
In 1989, after the departure of a member, entered the second generation, acting alongside the founders until 1999. At the end of this transitional period and having gained experience, in 2000 the company passed the baton to the second generation and so today is running by a group of seven descendants.
Since 2000, realizing the new market demands and trends of the time, the company begins to import raw materials of marble, limestone and granite to create a wide variety of grades and colors. Meanwhile, begins its export to other countries.
In 2003, the company created a showroom in Georgikis Sholis 7, in the area of Pilea, addressed to manufacturers, architects-engineers, interior designers and individuals.
The rapid rise involving the above movements, leading in 2007 to venture into investments sophisticated technological equipment and its extension to new roofed facilities in an area of 7.500m2 30.000m2, strengthening its presence in the field of marble and making it one of the leading marble industries in the wholesale and retail.
Moreover, the products being certified ISO 9001.
In 2009, the company decided to expand the range of materials, starting dynamically introducing organic products and artificial marbles and granites (quartz).
The company's goal is to have an upswing in domestic and foreign markets to satisfy the domestic market but also the market in other countries, maintaining optimism, despite the global economic crisis.
