Company Description
It was 1922 when our company was born: Godi Graniti di Gozzano.
Over ninety years of history engraved on stone. The granite. When the blocks were still transported with oxen, the granite slabs loaded on the shoulders and the only tools were the hammer and the point. The days of work in the quarry, and then in the company, were marked by that sound, precise and dry. Until 1934, when the first frame for cutting granite slabs arrived. A great turning point that allowed to have the plates cut in about fifteen days. We were the first: no one before then used the frame to cut the granite.
The years passed and our company grew, evolving on the thrust of our passion for working with stone and granite. Between 1970 and 1973 we bought the quarry at Premia, in the Antigorio valley, for the Serizzo mining and bought new machinery for cutting and processing our stones.
We came to ask ourselves a question, just as the generational change was imminent and when the machinery could allow us to improve our work. What we want to do? Where do we want to look?
When Gaudenzio and Giovanni took over the family business, they chose to look in a new direction, without forgetting the roots and history of Godi Graniti, contained in the memory and still visible in the corner occupied by the old looms.
