We are in the process of assisting the Owner and Architect in locating stone material for an upcoming renovation project in Oakland California. The new stone material will be located near some existing stone and so we are trying to locate material which will closely match the existing material within the same rooms. Even though the new stone material will not touch the existing stone material, the new stone material will be close enough to view both the existing as well as the new stone, so we need to be close in overall color as well as ‘vein movement’ in the stone. Attached are some photos of the existing stone material located in the Oakland Temple that we will be renovating next year. Hope this will be some help for you in your search. In addition, it appears that we will be looking for the following quality of stone material: • 2 cm – (approx.) 120 cm (high) x 180 cm (length) – 45 pieces • 14 cm – (approx..) 120 cm (high) x 180 cm (length) – 1 piece Due to the thickness needed for some plinths it would appear that we may need to look for a block of material. It may be well that we may need to visit the quarry to select the block material. Can you please provide location of the quarry and whether or not you would have a contact at the quarry in Brazil to accommodate us for a review of the blocks? Can you also please provide an approximate unit price range (US$/sf) for the stone material, so that I can put together a stone budget for the Owner. I understand that there are a number of variables that we will need to discuss before we actually get a actual quote for the material, but if we could get within a plus/minus of $5.00 /sf this would be helpful. Thanks, Terry
