Company Description
With 22 years of experience, Canteras Portofino is a 100% Mexican owned company,based in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico. We are dedicated to the extraction of stone blocks such as Marble, Travertine and Onyx, as well as the commercialization of natural stone products. We've worked with Red Travertine from Zacatecas, Mexico for over 10 years. In 2000 we acquired a Noche Travertine quarry in Coahuila, which to this day produces 350 cubic meters a month.
Between 2006 and 2008 we extracted Durango Travertine from Paredon.
Since 2009 we have begun to work with Light Travertine from Veracruz, from which the monthly extraction is 700 cubic meters, most of the stone blocks are sold to either the Mexican Stone Industry or exported to Europe and Asia.
2011 marks the beginning of the stone block extractions from quarries in Puebla, producing a monthly extraction of 400 cubic meters of Caramelo Travertine.
To this day, Canteras Portofino has acquired 3 more quarries to work with: Perlato White Onyx, White Marble and Gris Tenayo Marble from Durango.
Our Perlato White Onyx stones will be ready as soon as October 2012.
We are equipped with state of the art technology for quarry extraction and do not practice the use of explosives; all cuts are made with diamond cables, under strict quality control.
