The two partners have had years of experience in the field as they both had their own businesses before setting up this one together. One of the partners used to trade in marble all over the world and the other owned a big construction company.
One evening, while dining out and having some ouzo, the two friends-bosses now-were chatting to themselves and even laughing at the idea that they could ever possibly open a marble business together. Half a year later funding was approved of the construction plans were ready. A year later, in May 2007, they set up their company. The factory is in the region of Drama,2 km away from St Athanasios village,14 km away from Drama on the main road to Kavala.
Lydia stone was built in private property which covers a surface of 20.665 m2.The money was invested in new equipment .The use of water for cutting marble is a new, friendly to the environment method. It purifies the water and allows it to be reused.
The company was certified on 24.07.2007 according to the code DIN ISO 9001:2000 by TÜV Rheinland Germany. Our personnel are highly skilled and really know their job. We work in two shifts so as to cope with the workload efficiently.
