    MULTIBRETON RC - TRIMMING MACHINE FOR MARBLE AND GRANITE

    The Multibreton RC is a trimming machine for marble or granite strips that can be equipped with up to three cutting spindles: two spindles are adjustable in width while the central one is fixed.

    Strips are conveyed by a multiply belt covered by a thick layer of rubber designed to accept the cuts from the diamond blades.

    THE CUTTING SPINDLES

    The two adjustable cutting spindles can be manually positioned along the bridge through a screw/lead nut system and slide on guides encased in an oil bathand protected by a water labyrinth seal. On request, operating from the push-button panelthe positioning of each individual spindle can be motorized and sequential. When spindles arrive to the programmed position, hydraulic clamps lock them firmly in place on the bridge.

    All cutting spindles can be independently excluded in height by means of a pneumatic piston. The smooth and straight advancement of strips over the conveyor belt is assured by a system of vertical and horizontal pressor rollers and by a horizontal guide made of wear-resistant steel. When the width of strips changes, the adjustment of both the guide and the vertical pressor system is self-centering and is obtained by simply turning a handwheels.

    THE CONTROL UNIT

    All the general controls to start and switch-off the machine are located in front of the operator. A small portable push-button panel is availablefor the blade positioning operations so thatthe operator can safely command the spindle displacement inside the working area.

    Multibreton DXS is an automatic cross cutter designed for cutting granite and marble slabs. It can be fitted with up to 7 independent 7.5 kW cutter groups, and as it operates in automatic, operator supervision is not required.

    WORK CYCLE

    The Multibreton DXS work cycle is fully automatic and does not require the supervision of an operator:

    • The slab to cut is positioned on a conveyor which travels on the workbench. The conveyor consists of a multilayer belt with a thick rubber coating ideal for resisting cuts caused by the diamond disc cutters when operating

    • The slab automatically stops when it reaches a concealed end stop

    • A motorised longitudinal end stop maintains the slab aligned during cutting operations

    • Once cutting operations have terminated the discs are raised off the workpiece and then returned to their original position and the slab cut into tiles is discharged from the machine and a new slab is fed in.

    SPINDLE GROUPS

    Each spindle group has a drive power of 7.5 kW and travels on guides enclosed in an oil bath and protected against penetration of water by a labyrinth seal housing and are mounted to a spindle-holder beam configuration.

    An incorporated pneumatic system raises single spindle groups excluding them from the work cycle . Once the machine has cut the workpiece all the spindle groups are raised preventing the diamond cutting discs from running over the cut slab. The operator from the pushbutton control panel activates the servomotors which position each single spindle group in sequence along the beam.

    Once the spindle group has reached its correct working position a hydraulic-lock-system locks it in position. The operator can control the servomotors from the display once cutting measurements and disc thickness have been programmed. Both effective and preset cutting measurements are displayed.

    3. the cut is performed while the spindleholding beam moves orthogonally with respect to the conveyor belt.

    Once the cut is carried out, the saw blades lift before getting back to their starting position, and the strip - cut into tiles - is transferred outside the machine, while a new strip to be cut enters the machine.

    CUTTING OF TWO STRIPS SIMULTANEOUSLY

    The machine is designed to cut even two strips having different length in a single

    work cycle by optimizing the sawing operations. In this case, during the feeding

    phase, strips are measured by means of suitable sensors and then locked in place in front of the cutting blades.

    Breton Multicut is a programmable multi-spindle automatic saw with a revolving worktable and is designed for cutting both natural and engineered stone slabs to any required size.
    Breton Multicut is designed and developed to offer high-production and cutting performance combined with improved operational flexibility and a sophisticated and advanced slab optimisation system.
    The work cycle - longitudinal cuts, work-table rotation, transversal cuts - is fully automatic and computer managed. Slab loading and product unloading operations can be automated to meet specific requirements. Precise and accurate cutting. The work cycles are programmed on the machine monitor and can be stored and then recalled whenever required. Depending on slab thickness, the slab can be cut in plunge-cut or step-cut mode. The “scanner” system scans the shape of the slab and records surface defects, and a special software elaborates and defines the best cutting cycle based on the slabs available and work orders programmed in the system. The result is maximum production optimisation.

    Breton Multicut can in real time optimise slab surface by automatically selecting the most appropriate cutting cycle to process the work orders previously programmed in the computer system which controls and manages the production line.
    When slabs are fed-into Breton Multicut, a scanner scans the shape and size of the slabs and the operator can mark out any defects, holes or cracks in the surface. Based on the information transmitted by the scanner and on the programmed work orders, a purposely developed software manages the machines and equipment forming the production line simultaneously. This software can also receive work orders through a local access network from the office PC. The work order can include diverse formats of tiles which are identified in the order utilising just the measurements for length and width. For each format the required quantity is defined and is automatically updated based on the number of cutting cycles for each slab processed until the order is completed. Slab cutting, based on the information received from the scanner, is optimised to reduce waste. Even slabs with surface defects such as holes, stains, marks etc. are optimised using this system. The scanner records the defects of the slabs and
    sends prompts to the software only if the defects have been previously marked out by the operator who simply positions over the defect (whether it is a hole, stain, crack etc…) a piece of non-reflecting matt material (e.g. standard household carpet). When the slab passes under the scanner, the scanner
    reads the covered areas as if part of the slab is missing identifying these zones as part/s of the slab which cannot be utilised in production. Prompts are then sent to the main system PC and the software elaborates the information and defines the best cycle to optimise production. The operator removes the material used to cover the defects which can be reused or thrown away. The information is then graphically displayed on the monitor indicating the percentage of material processed. And the waste produced….. There are several cutting and optimisation options: For sawing strips (longitudinal or transversal or mixed) the system will automatically standardize the cutting pattern so as to reduce the machine’s cycle time for very complex cutting patterns. This function brings together, where possible, strips having the same cuts so that they can be sawn in a single work cycle.

The reception suction cup, of particular design, is made up of a rectangular plate, capable of supporting horizontal loads of up to 120 Kgs.

    The table N.2590, located at the exit of the longitudinal cutter, has a system of physical stops, actuated pneumatically, that allows the selection of the strips that have been previously cut according to the width for their subsequent processing in the longitudinal cutter.
    The second table N.2585 has a dragging device to join and align the strips prior to their processing in the transversal cutter, as well as the removal of longitudinal waste.
    The unloading tables with band N.2426 have a frame built based on steel profiles with a transport band for unloading the cutting table, simultaneously, while the crosscutter already receives the next board and is ready to cut.
    Work areas are protected, limiting access to risk areas by means of protection fences and photocells, to avoid any risk of accident.
    All machines and heads are equipped with an implantation system with centralized greasing for quick and easy maintenance.
    In the electrical and control installation section, it is worth highlighting the implementation of state-of-the-art automatons with programs custom designed by our technical department, so that the programming of the machines is as simple as possible for the operators, avoiding thus wasting unnecessary time. The programming of the work cycle and the visualization of its sequence is carried out on two operator terminals with a screen, where all the work parameters are displayed, as well as the cutting cycles.

    MTX 700/1 is a one-head multi-disc cutting machine, and it is used for reject recovery in marble; it is very rugged with a shaft to hold the discs which is mounted by both sides to obtain stability and lack of vibrations. This solution allows to cut in one run the materials of big thickness. On the shaft that holds the discs, it is possible to mount more than one cutting disc spaced by proper separators in order to obtain different sizes. The conveyor belt of piezes in rubber with high adhesion is large 700mm and its speed is adjustable through inverter. The head is adjustable vertically with an electric control.     Machinery Function Features:

    MTP are automatic machines for multiple linear cutting with diamond discs.
    Suitable for cutting ceramic tiles of any kind, marble, granite, glass and bricks.
    MTP 500/700/950/1300/1600/1900/2200 differentiate from each other for the width of the relevant conveyor belt and can be delivered with two or three cutting heads, to allow the choice of the most appropriate type according to the quantities or the sizes to be cut.
    An essential characteristic of the MTPs is the fact that the disc support shaft is stable and doesn't vibrate as it is fastened on both sides. The lack of vibrations guarantees the excellent quality of the cut made.
    With two disc support heads, the first is used to perform the pre-cut and the second the cut, thus achieving high production speeds with excellent finish results.
    With three heads, on the other hand, there are certain advantages,
    1) by using the second head you can chamfer by fitting chamfering discs shaped at 90°, thus obtaining a complete cut with superior chamfering.
    2) by carrying out two pre-cuts with the first and second heads and the final cut with the third you get higher production and the possibility to cut thicknesses off up to 25/30 mm on materials such as granite or porcelain stoneware without drastically slowing down the cutting speed.
    As the frame is the same length for all models it is in any case possible to subsequently fit the third head onto the 2-head cutting machine.
    Thanks to their very sturdy structure, the MTPs can be fitted with motors with power up to 22kw with special tools for cutting mosaics automatically up to sizes of 10x10 mm.
