Basalt! But some therapists do prefer to use sedimentary rocks such as marine stones, sandstone, or limestone. This is due to their mineral properties, which some therapists believe to confer extra benefits on clients. Generally speaking, though, the best choice of stone for hot stone massage therapy is basalt.

No, that's not a good idea. First, the only proper way to heat stones is in professional massage stone heater. Microwaves, hot plates, slow cookers and ovens -to name only a few- are never appropriate places to heat massage stones.

This type of massage involves the use and placement of basalt river rock pebbles on different points of the body. The rocks are heated before use and the massage therapist can then apply deeper pressure to areas of concern without causing any discomfort.

Use a soft damp cloth to clean all surfaces, and keep your dispenser looking brand-new. Bathroom cleaners usually contain harsh and aggressive chemicals designed to clean ceramic and porcelain surfaces. These products will damage and deteriorate your natural stone dispenser, so stick to warm water, or a mild soap.

A soap dispenser's material should be strong and durable. The material affects its capabilities and longevity. Marble, onyx, granite, travertine, limestone and slate are common materials.
