Lagos Azul Limestone

Lagos Azul Limestone, also known as Azur Valverde Limestone, is a remarkable natural stone quarried in the southern region of Algarve, Portugal. It is a fossilized sedimentary rock known for its medium grain texture and stunning color palette, featuring deep shades of grey and blue, complemented by attractive light grayish color shades.
Appearance:
Lagos Azul Limestone is celebrated for its captivating and cozy appearance. The stone's deep grey to blue base color creates a sense of sophistication and tranquility. Amidst this captivating background, lighter grayish color shades and occasional fossilized imprints are scattered, adding a touch of history and charm to the stone's overall appearance.
Texture:
With a medium grain texture, Lagos Azul Limestone strikes a harmonious balance between subtlety and visual interest. The stone's texture enhances its natural beauty and adds depth to the surface, making it an ideal choice for creating inviting and visually appealing spaces.
Durability:
As a limestone, Lagos Azul is a relatively softer and more porous natural stone compared to harder stones like granite or quartzite. Due to its characteristics, it is best suited for interior applications, where it can be showcased in areas with less foot traffic, such as flooring, wall cladding, and decorative elements.
Applications:
Lagos Azul Limestone is commonly used in interior design projects, where its warm and sophisticated tones can be showcased. It is favored for flooring in residential and commercial spaces, wall cladding to add character to feature walls, and for crafting elegant bathroom vanities and fireplace surrounds. Additionally, its unique fossilized imprints make it a popular choice for custom decorative pieces.
Origin:
Lagos Azul Limestone is quarried in the southern Algarve region of Portugal, where it is carefully extracted from the earth's natural deposits. Portugal is renowned for its rich variety of natural stones, and Lagos Azul Limestone is one of the prized stones originating from the country.
Maintenance:
Proper care and maintenance are essential to preserve the beauty and longevity of Lagos Azul Limestone. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent and water is recommended to keep its surface clean and free from dirt and debris. It is crucial to avoid using acidic or abrasive cleaners that may harm the limestone's surface. Periodic sealing is advised to enhance its stain resistance and protect it from moisture and spills.
Availability:
The availability of Lagos Azul Limestone may vary based on the specific quarry sites and production levels in the Algarve region. For accurate information on its availability, finishes, and sourcing options, it is best to work with reputable suppliers and experts familiar with Lagos Azul Limestone.

Hello! I hope you are doing well. We are working on Rimrock Resort in Canada, Banff and are interested in Tyndall Stone. We would like to use it for the lobby flooring with the porcelain tile pattern combination. Is it something viable? Does this stone go only in slabs, or do you have any other versions? Could you please give us some recommendation about the height, finishes, etc and send us the samples for the flooring options? Also, we are considering the darker stones such as Lagos Azul Limestone, it would be nice to get those samples as well. Thank you!
