Modelstone, Import&Export of Marbles and Granites, is a portuguese company and a reference in the natural stone sector, dedicated to the extraction, processing and trading of National and imported natural stones, having in its head office in Santo Tirso (Oporto), a warehouse for the specific trade of various types of marbles, Granites with various finishes and colors.
Present through all the natural stone sector value chain, have a partnership in three quarries in Portugal: two in the middle of the biggest calacareous rock zone of exploration, Moleanos Vidraço and Ataíja (Limestone), and one of Marble located in the south of the country (Lagoa, Vila Viçosa), with an area of 36,000m2, are an important source of raw material of the company, especially the Estremoz marble stone, resulting in an average annual commercial production of 3,500m3 of blocks, due to the combination of technologically advanced heavy machinery and specialized human resources. The Portuguese stones of recognized quality, produced in the Centre of production of the quarries, are aimed to the transformation in their factory, as well as for export. It also participatrs in a major part of a White Marble quarry in the region of Namibe, Angola.
Modelstone has several strategic partnerships with processing plants in Portugal, with the latest state of the art technology, which allows to provide all kinds of products, such as slabs, or cut pieces to measure with any type of surface finishing according to costumers needs. Due the high levels of production, the company has always big stocks of materials in standard sizes for settlement.
With a strong investment policy and sustainable growth, the company accompanied the evolutionary requirements of markets that are integrated, allowing to extend to important market shares worldwide, able to respond in real time to the various specificities and requirements of its customers and employees.
