The origins of The Red LeafSteffen reviewing specs on-site. Group began in 1983 as Architectural Stonemasonry (ASM). Tony Rogac, founder and creative artisan, carved out a reputation as one of the Vancouver’s finest stonemasons. His background stems from cathedral stone restoration in England and in 1983, with a goal to relocate to Canada, was invited to participate in restoring the Victoria Legislative Buildings. Today, these same buildings remain un-restored. What starts off dire, turns to opportunity and Tony converted his acerage into a stone yard adding secondary fabrication equipment as finances allowed him.
Red Leaf Architectural Products Inc. (RLAP) was founded by Steffen Waite, back in late 2010. Steffen has been involved in construction since the age of 15. His quest for knowledge inspired him to complete a degree in Civil Engineering (1990), at which point he headed to Germany to capitalize on the collapse of the Berlin Wall. Returning to Vancouver in 1999, Steffen immersed himself in civil and building projects as a project manager, but in 2007 he realized that creativity is best valued and revered with fine homes at which point he joined Kindred Construction. Fine Homes require great craftsmen – Tony and Steffen’s paths first crossed. Stone, and its beauty, coupled with a relatively limited talent pool spawned the ideas behind Red Leaf – it originally competed against Tony and Architectural Stonemasonry.
The amalgamation of Red Leaf and Architectural Stonemasonry shaped a new vision and long-term business strategy for both Steffen and Tony. Craftsmanship and Art, were joined with engineering and business processes to create an organization to serve high end residential and commercial projects throughout North America. The capacity to hand carve intricate stone pieces alongside high powered diamond cutting equipment, which we have augmented with multi-axis CNC cutting and milling is the keystone to differentiating Red Leaf in the natural stone industry. Red Leaf offers the supply of natural stone, cast stone and related products, through precision fabrication and contracting services. Since mid-2013, Red Leaf also offers steel masonry connectors, specialized stone anchors and an array of fixings. We now trade under three divisions.
