ABELSTEIN GmbH is a stonemason's business specializing in restoration and tombstones. Founded in 1989 by master stonemason and sculptor Johannes Abel, the company with its 15 employees is a nationwide company. The business is now managed jointly by Johannes Abel, his daughter Nora Bischoff and his son-in-law Bastian Bischoff. For a sustainable orientation, the company was renamed a GmbH in 2022.
Since it was founded, 32 apprentices have been trained as journeyman stonemasons and stone sculptors.
Restorations on historic and listed buildings are carried out in Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse.
Gravestones and sculptures can be found in more than 80 cemeteries in the Alsace, Basel, Lörrach and Markgräflerland triangle; at the Kaiserstuhl and in Freiburg, as well as nationwide in Hanover, Kassel, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Zurich.
