Vacuum Resin-Treating Plants

The Aims of Using Block Reinforcing Line:
This system gives the reliability to transfer very fragile stone from quarries to stone factories without any loss of material. By utilizing this reinforcement process, the risk of losing defective material in the cutting process will be reduced significantly and the slabs will be guaranteed to be processed with the lowest loss of material. In the other words, using this system increase the efficiency of quarries and stone factories sharply.
The Method:
By means of pressure water, firstly the block will be washed. After that, by using a drying room, the block will be dried. Then, the block is covered into special device like; draining layer, fiber glass layer, vacuum bag and etc. to be prepared for vacuum process and resin injection. Just after the resin injection process, the block is transferred into the pressure vessel and by using a pressure cycle, a very deep penetration and a really strong cover around the block and slabs will be guaranteed. Finally, for more quick resin curing process, the block will be transferred into a drying room.
The benefits of using this innovative system:
-by means of this system, all the cracks and fissures which are connected to the surfaces of the block will be filled with resin.
-Deep resin penetration into all micro-cracks
-all of the air bubbles in the vacuum bag will be drained completely.
-really strong cover around the block and slabs

Thanks to the vacuum, air goes out from the narrow crack lines of stone where resin penetrates more easily and deeply thus causing the slabs to be better restored.Vacuum resin-treated slabs get a better polishing since each single crack line, even the narrowest, is filled up with resin.

Furthermore, cracks saturated with resin prevent any seepage of humidity entering from the floor.Breton patented and realised the plants for the vacuum resin-treating by spreading the resin on the surface of marble and/or granite slabs (without immersion in resin), and developed in its R&D Dept. both the formulation of the resins to be used and the parameters involved in the process.

Breton transfers the complete Know-How to operate the plant and use the resins to its customers, and trains their operators as well.

This treatment creates a strong reinforcement around the cut slab (the thickness of reinforcing varies according to request conditions and the available quantity of resin).

HRVP EXTENDED BLOCK CORE REINFORCING BY MEANS OF VACUUM DEVICE AND PRESSURE
By using Hrvp Extended is guaranteed the resin percolation into all fractures connected to the external block surface. This operation gives the best solution to get a block that can be cut even if the material was fragile or really fractured.
There are now two treatments with a new phase:

Catalysis of reinforced block: once the blocks have been reinforced and hardened they are placed inside hardening chambers that previously have been heated by means of electric or gas generator until the resin becomes hard
CHARACTERISTICS RESINS
We use bi-component epoxy resins studied properly for the HRVP process. The special formulations produced change according to the material of the block to be worked and to its fractures.
The plant sale contract includes the resins supply for a period to be established during the negotiations.

Besides studying the usage, Prometec has optimized shape, dimension and quality of all complementary tools necessary for the working cycle good execution.

Besides the plant assembly and start up, Prometec proposes its staff for a period of training to guarantee the nal result on all processed and processable materials by the purchasing company.

These machines facilitate the penetration of the resin, previously deposited on the surface of the slabs, into the micro-cracks and pores. The process is achieved by housing the slab in a vacuum chamber.

SIMEC supplies mezzanines housing containers of resin and/or pumps and distributors for the automatic resining area. Mezzanines are made in different sizes to satisfy all the customers’ needs. They are made of a sturdy metallic carpentry treated with special two component paints and completed with galvanized steel stairs. This area can be equipped with an optional lighting system placed underneath.
